Pi Day Celebration
470 Vosburg Road, Tunkhannock, PA 18657
Galileo believed the book of nature is written in the language of mathematics. Homeschool and cyberschool families can join us on Pi Day to celebrate the collision between math and nature with a pi and circle themed program. This program is geared toward students who have a basic understanding of area and perimeter of rectangles and have worked with formulas, as we will be doing some hands-on activities to visually derive the mathematical formulas for circumference and area of a circle, as well as calculating area and circumference for some objects. We'll go on a hunt for circular objects along the park trails and also take time to create circular art.
This program will be entirely outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Registration is required. Please put the name of each child attending.
Families are not required, but may bring some pie to share if they would like! If you would like to bring pie, please put a comment on your registration.
