Lessons from Pennsylvania Land Choices provide multi-modal, engaging activities for students in grades 6-12. From comparing aerial photographs to designing a park, Pennsylvania Land Choices provides inquiry-based lessons aligned to current state academic standards.
Earn twelve Act 48 hours while learning about land use, community planning, and community investigations. Each participant will receive a DCNR PA Land Choices curriculum guide, a Project Learning Tree (PLT) Places We Live Secondary Ed. Module https://www.plt.org/curriculum/places-we-live/, and other resources.
Day 1 includes a special presentation on Return on Environment (ROE) by John Rogers of Keystone Conservation Trust. Day 2 features a guided land use tour of Carbon County.
Pennsylvania Land Choices is an educational curriculum which was developed by the PA Bureau of State Parks as a tool for teachers to educate their students about land use, land conservation, and sustainable communities. http://www.palandchoices.org/
