PA Herpetology 101

1454 Laurel Hill Park Road, Somerset, PA 15501-5629

Want to learn more about the natural history of the reptiles and amphibian species that call Pennsylvania home? Join naturalist April Claus as she helps you sharpen your “herp” identification skills. This hands-on interactive workshop introduces you to common reptiles and amphibians of Pennsylvania! Learn how to identify frogs and toads by their call, examine touchable models, and learn how to identify the venomous snakes that live in our area. Bring your boots and be ready to get dirty as we search different habitats for “herptiles”. You will be amazed at the important roles these animals play in our ecosystem.

This program is geared to adults and children with a strong interest in herpetology. Children under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an adult. All participants should bring a brown bag lunch and plenty of drinking water for the day.

Registration is required!
