CANCELLED - Nightscape Photo Workshop

Workshop cancelled! Please note that because of the historic, long-standing Woodsmens Show taking place at the park the weekend of this program, the presenter and park staff feel that your experience participating in the photo workshop would be less than ideal. The event utilizes the overnight area where this workshop typically takes place. We pride ourselves on high-quality programming, and thus, have decided to cancel the workshop.

Also, if you plan to visit even without the workshop occurring, you are welcome to utilize the free stargazing area on the north side of route 44.

Photograph the starry night sky with your DSLR camera & lenses you currently own. Curt Weinhold, a PA Wilds Juried Artisan, teaches you to photograph constellations & the Milky Way. Foreground material, such as trees or buildings may also add to the composition. Samples of work online: http://pbase.com/cwphoto Essential Gear Includes: DSLR Camera, fully charged battery, sturdy tripod, wide angle lens preferred (Rokinon 14mm is popular & has reasonable cost). Strongly recommend a spare battery if available and a memory card. Optionally, you can bring a laptop with image editing software. Participants should be familiar with changing camera settings and have either a dim red flashlight or a red screen app on their phone. When time allows, before dark, the workshop will include a short review of images in Photoshop. All participants must follow CDC guidelines and wear a mask / face covering at all times in order to attend this program. Dress so you are comfortable for the anticipated night temperatures. Registration Required - Registration will close at 3pm 2 days prior to class (or when full). You may put your name on a waitlist if class is full. Class size is limited to only 10 seats. Class is NOT for those wishing to photograph through a telescope. Payment of $60.00 will be due upon arrival at the program by check or cash only. The program will be cancelled in the event of rain or overcast skies. Questions? Contact Curt at curtwphoto@gmail.com
