Night Sky Tour: Super Buck Moon

2950 Pohopoco Dr., Lehighton, PA 18235-8905

Free Event

Join the park educator and our Astronomy enthusiast/Conservation Volunteer, for an exciting evening exploring the wonders of the heavens.

Participants will have captivating views of the Super Buck Moon, which will be the largest-appearing and closest full moon of the year. We'll also view various constellations and stars. This program will begin as an informative discussion on July’s full moon, followed by a hands-on exploration of the wonders and mysteries of the evening skies. Feel free to bring your own equipment. This event is free.

Pre-registration is required to attend this program and spaces are limited. MINORS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.

While you may bring your own equipment and observe on your own in the designated area, all visitors should arrive before dark and check in at the Environmental Interpretive Center (E.I.C.). Programs begin at the E.I.C. The park asks that visitors to the Night Sky programs please leave their pets at home. Dim lighting, large crowds and sensitive equipment do not create a pet-friendly environment.

***PLEASE NOTE!!! All stargazing programs will be canceled and rescheduled in the event of rain or severe thunderstorms. If the sky is overcast or mostly cloudy, the program will be canceled and rescheduled. If the sky is clear or partly cloudy, the program is a GO! A decision to cancel will be made no later than 3pm the day of the program. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL OR THE CALENDAR OF EVENTS PAGE FOR A NOTIFICATION OF CANCELLATION!!!
