Night Sky Tour - Late Summer Sky

Experience the wonder of the night sky at Cherry Springs State Park through a laser-guided tour conducted by park staff.
Explore the constellations of Ursa Major (Big Bear, containing the Big Dipper) and Pegasus. Listen as we recount the legends and myths surrounding these mysterious patterns in the sky. Registration encouraged, but not required. Should we need to cancel or modify a program due to weather, etc., we will email all registered participants. Optional registration will open 45 days before the program.

While you may still observe on your own at the park without attending a program, all visitors should arrive before dark.
Programs occur at Night Sky Public Viewing Area. Park in the gravel lot and follow the walkway next to the restrooms to the seating area. Since seating is limited, you may want to bring a chair and/or blanket.
We ask that park visitors please leave their pets at home. Dim lighting, large crowds and sensitive equipment do not create a pet-friendly environment.
All programs will be cancelled in the event of rain or thunder.
