"The impact of his gunshot from a rim rock in Arizona started a shift in Aldo Leopold's thinking, one that would lead him to the insight that culminated his life’s work: the need for an ethical relationship between people and nature. The documentary film Green Fire traces Leopold’s personal journey and follows the threads that connect to his legacy today."

Join us at the park office as we watch the film Green Fire and afterwards have a short discussion. This award-winning documentary is a must-see for any nature lover, and is suitable for all ages, but is primarily for middle school ages and up.

This is also the introductory meeting of the Glendale Nature Book Club, where we will read a book together and meet once a week to discuss that week's reading. The first book we will be reading is "A Sand County Almanac, and Sketches Here and There" by Aldo Leopold. This "collection of essays advocate Leopold's idea of a "land ethic", or a responsible relationship existing between people and the land they inhabit" and is a must-read for any nature-lover.
