Jennings Environmental Education Center is looking for volunteers to pitch in at the park in celebration of National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 24 from 9 am – 1 pm.  Volunteers will do trail work and other park improvement projects for approximately 2.5 hours, and then receive a lunch and commemorative t-shirt for their efforts!  Participants must be age 12 or older and must register for the program by contacting the Center at 724-794-6011 or registering online (green register button) no later than September 14. 

National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands American's enjoy. Last year over 113,000 volunteers nationwide built trails and bridges, planted trees and plants, and removed trash and invasive plants.  Trail construction and rehabilitation will be the focus of the day at Jennings.  

Jennings is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM weekdays and on weekends as scheduled.  The trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset for hiking and other environmentally related activities.
