Jennings Environmental Education Center is looking for volunteers to pitch in at the park in celebration of National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 28 from 9 am – 1 pm. Volunteers will do trail work and other park improvement projects for approximately 2.5 hours, and then receive a lunch and commemorative t-shirt for their efforts! Participants must be age 12 or older and must register for the program by contacting the Center at 724-794-6011 or registering online (by clicking register button above) no later than September 18.
National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands American's enjoy. For three decades, National Public Lands Day (NPLD) has united communities in the care and celebration of our nation's public lands.
More than 70,000 participants are expected to join in trail maintenance projects, park and river clean ups, tree planting activities, invasive species removal projects, as well as hikes and other fun activities throughout the country. Trail construction and rehabilitation will be the focus of the day at Jennings.
