This is a self-guided hike. Grab the Lake Loop Self-Guided Trail Guide at the Black Moshannon State Park Office (on the brochure rack), then take a one-mile hike on the Lake Loop Trail. Stop at the numbers along the trail. Find that number in your guide and read the description. The descriptions in the guide include history, animals, and plants.
The Lake Loop Self-Guided Trail should be started at the parking lot for the Environmental Learning Center. The trail is mostly flat with some roots across it. It may be snow covered or icy. Please wear proper footwear and dress for the weather.
Please do this activity in small, immediate family groups. Wear masks and maintain social distancing when encountering other groups. Follow CDC and Pennsylvania guidelines for masking, sanitizing, etc. Out-of-state travel restrictions apply (link below). Program subject to change, further restrictions, or cancellation at any time without warning.
