Did you know you’re in the Spotted Lanternfly quarantine zone? Maybe you’ve seen the billboards asking the public to report sightings. Maybe you’ve heard people talking about them on the news. Maybe you’ve noticed them all over the trees in your own backyard!
What are they and why should you care? And what can you do about it?
Join park staff on this presentation on the lanternfly. We’ll start in the park office and learn a little bit about the history of this insect, where they live, and why they are suddenly thriving in eastern Pennsylvania.
Then we will take a short walk to see lanternflies in the wild, learn to identify their egg masses, and practice some of the methods you can do at home to protect your property and help fight this invasive pest.
