Afterschool Program for ages 7 - 10.  Join Ms. Bekah for this seasonal Junior Bairders Club, as we explore the wonderful world of birds! Topics, timing and age-ranges may vary. Each program will include both indoor and outdoor lesson portions, through which we can explore Nolde Forest and our feathered forest friends. Some programs will also offer an opportunity for free play and crafts, as appropriate.

At the end of each program, there will be an optional family bird walk lead by members of the Baird Ornithological Club. Parents are encouraged to return at the end of the program to come along and enjoy a new fun family activity, together!

We will meet in McConnell Education Center Hall.

Parents are welcome to drop their registered child(ren) off and, if you have other students outside of this age range, we invite you to take a winter forest hike with them, while we work on a learning about the bird topic of the month. All parents and siblings are invited to join us for the optional guided bird walk at the end of each program.

Topic and schedule for Jr Bairders Club March session:

March 11^th, 5-7pm

Ages 7-10

5:00-5:30pm Drop-off, free time (crafts and play, weather depending)

5:30-6:15pm Lesson in McConnell Hall – Outstanding Owls

Students will learn all about these notorious nocturnal hunters. We will look up-close at some amazing owl adaptations, dissect wild owl pellets, and practice our owl calls.

6:15pm Parent Pick-up OR parents return for optional guided family bird walk

This month we will be offering a short family owl prowl from 6:15-7pm (sunset is at 6:05pm, so please dress for the weather and bring flashlights to participate!

**Please note: If you do not wish to participate in the optional guided family bird walk, you MUST pick up your student(s) at 6:15pm. Students may not participate in the guided family bird walks without the presence of a chaperone.

This program will take place both inside and outside. Please make sure all students are dressed appropriately to spend time outside.

**Registration is required for ALL student participants. Spaces are limited. There is a $5 fee for each student. The fee should be paid as students are dropped off. ** Register by clicking the green button in the upper righthand corner.
