Afterschool Program for ages 7 - 10.  Join Ms. Katie for this seasonal Junior Bairders Club, as we explore the wonderful world of birds! Topics, timing and age-ranges may vary. Each program will include both indoor and outdoor lesson portions, through which we can explore Nolde Forest and our feathered forest friends. Some programs will also offer an opportunity for free play and crafts, as appropriate.

At the end of each program, there will be an optional family bird walk lead by members of the Baird Ornithological Club. Parents are encouraged to return at the end of the program to come along and enjoy a new fun family activity, together!

We will meet in the Education Center parking lot.

Parents are welcome to drop their registered child(ren) off and, if you have other students outside of this age range, we invite you to take a spring forest hike with them, while we work on learning about the bird topic of the month. All parents and siblings are invited to join us for the optional guided bird walk at the end of each program.

Topic and schedule for Jr Bairders Club April session:

April 8^th, 5-7pm

Ages 7-10

5-5:30pm Drop-off, snack, free play time

5:30-6:15pm Lesson in Classroom – Nifty Nests

Students will learn all about the whys and hows of bird nest building in the spring. They will explore different nest and egg styles, build their own nests, and experience what it’s like to be a busy bird parent with a hungry bird relay.

6:15p Parent Pick-up OR parents return for optional guided family bird walk

This month we will be offering a short family nest box walk from 6:15-7pm. Please dress for the weather!

**Please note: If you do not wish to participate in the optional guided family bird walk, you MUST pick up your student(s) at 6:15pm. Students may not participate in the guided family bird walks without the presence of a chaperone.

This program will take place both inside and outside. Please make sure all students are dressed appropriately to spend time outside.

**Registration is required for ALL participants. Spaces are limited. There is a $5 fee for each student. The fee should be paid as students are dropped off. ** Register by clicking the green button in the upper righthand corner.
