Invasive Species Scavenger Hunt

301 Peninsula Drive, Suite 1, Erie, PA 16505-2042

Free Event

If you are into nature type scavenger hunts, then this may be for you. The Pennsylvania iMapInvasives Program will once again be hosting its “Invasive Species Scavenger Hunt” this year and you are invited to participate!

During the month of August, challenge yourself to learn how to identify, search for and report your findings of 10 invasive species as part of a special statewide scavenger hunt. A recorded webinar will be shown on Thursday, August 4, from 10am to 11:30 am at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center in the Big Green Screen. It will highlight the checklist of invasive species and explain how to report observation data to iMapInvasives.

Participants will be given the entire Month of August to search in their local natural areas and document their findings. Those who report at least one finding (presence or absence) of each of the 10 listed species will be entered into a drawing to win a prize package of outdoor related gear. Five lucky people will be chosen as winners.
