Invasive Species Hike

Join Environmental Education Specialist, Rebekah, as we discover Mink Trail and discuss the role that biodiversity plays in our ecosystem, and how invasive species are affecting our forests.

We will be meeting at 9:00am on Sunday morning (7/29) at the Mink Trail parking lot (directions below). The walk should be finished by 10:30am.

 

Registration is required for this event. Spaces are limited! You will receive updates before the event concerning any changes or weather cancellations. Please be sure to check your email before leaving for this event! Any changes or cancellations will be made by 8am the morning of the event.

 

**NOTE: Each participant needs to be registered separately to reserve the correct number of spots. No group, pair or family registrations will be accepted.**

Please bring the following with you for the walk:

  • Your own binoculars if you would like them
  • Extra water & snacks
  •  Personal medicine (including but not limited to a personal inhaler, epi-pen, insulin, etc.)
  • clothes/layers appropriate for the weather (at this time they are forecasting possible chance of showers for Saturday) 
  • Appropriate footwear - absolutely NO FLIP-FLOPS or open-toed shoes will be permitted  

 

 

DIRECTIONS TO OLD RIDGE ROAD PARKING LOT FROM THE PARK OFFICE:

  • 1. From the park office parking lot, head southwest by turning left onto Route 563/ Mountain View Drive.
  •  
  • 2. Proceed 3.5 miles to PA 313-E / PA563-S and turn left.
  •  
  • 3. Proceed 1.2 miles to N Ridge Road and turn left.
  •  
  • 4. Proceed 4.5 miles to Old Ridge Road/Ridge Road and turn left.
  •  
  • 5. Continue on Old Ridge Road/Ridge Road for 0.4 miles to the dead end of the road and park in the lot located there.
