Invasive Investigation
305 State Park Road, Oil City, PA 16301-9733
According to the USDA, “invasive species have contributed to the decline of 42% of US endangered and threatened species.” Join the park educator to learn how to identify and control these invaders to help support local native plants and wildlife. We’ll meet at the Blood Farm Pavilion for a brief chat before heading out on a half-mile walk to identify some of the more common invasive plants in Venango County. Please dress for the weather and wear waterproof boots in case the trail is muddy. You may also wish to bring thick work gloves if you would like to get hands-on during this program. (Many of these plants have thorns!)
REMINDER: The bridge by the park office is CLOSED. To reach Blood Farm, enter the park from the Rt. 8 entrance near Rouseville. Turn onto State Park Road and continue on for about 0.5 mile. Look for Blood Farm Day Use Area on the right.
