International Bat Night

In celebration of International Bat Night, the Friends of Nockamixon State Park have once again partnered with Pennsylvania Bat Conservation and Rehabilitation for a fun and educational batravaganza!

 

Registration is required for this activity. Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. To register, click the "register" button above.

 

Meet at the Environmental Education Center to hear a presentation and meet ambassador bats, then take a short walk to watch as rehabilitated bats are released into the night! Please bring a flashlight. This program is limited to ages 6 and up, and all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.

 

6:30-7:00 Light refreshments provided by FONSP

7:00-8:00 Bat presentation by Steph Stronsick

8:00-9:00 Bat walk and release

 

DIRECTIONS TO ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER FROM THE PARK OFFICE:
1. From the park office parking lot, head northeast by turning right onto Route 563/ Mountain View Drive.
2. Proceed 0.8 miles to Harrisburg School Road and turn right.
3. Proceed 0.3 miles to the stop sign (entering the park) and turn right.
4. Proceed 0.2 miles to parking lot #12 and park.
5. Using either the main park roadway (follow the lights!) or the gravel path, walk through the wooded area 400 ft to the Environmental Education Center.
