Bees, Birds, & Wildflowers: A Yellow Creek State Park Tale of trying to save Pollinators Tour preregistration required

170 Route 259 Highway, Penn Run, PA 15765-5941

Free Event

Are you curious about how native wild flowers, fire, and planting trees help our struggling pollinators like bees and butterflies? Celebrate National Pollinator Week with PA State Parks.  Learn about our efforts through a resource management perspective during a driving/hiking tour showing our native plant garden, riparian buffer zone, and wildflower meadows that were set on fire to improve habitat for pollinators and wildlife.   We meet at the Environmental Learning Center and will drive over to the Day Use and hike around to explore the Riparian Buffer Zone and hike up to the Ridge Top Meadow. Please wear long pants, hiking shoes, and bring water.

If you're vaccinated, you don't need to wear a mask.  If you're not vaccinated, please wear a mask.

Driving Directions:  Drive past the park office which is at 170 Route 259 Hwy, Penn Run, PA 15765, and turn left at the sign for Dragonfly Pond/Maintenance Garage.   Park in the parking lot and walk up to the first building on the right.
