Celebrate Earth Day by visiting the park and participating in the "I Kid A Rod"!  The "I Kid A Rod" is a program developed to teach young people the art of mushing using sled dogs while promoting outdoor recreation. They teach young people about the "Iditarod " race and also the "Serum Run" in Alaska in the 1920s where only sled dogs could deliver desperately needed medicine through the snow and harsh terrain.  After learning about mushing, the kids can compete in a friendly dry-land competition using eggs as the serum for the mock "Serum Run". The event is free and open to the first 25 kids whose parents call the park to register their child. Parents must accompany their children to this event. The public is encouraged to watch.
