Homeschool Day: Creek Camp

Homeschoolers, enjoy a fun day along the First Fork Sinnemahoning Creek while learning about freshwater habitats and the animals and plants that live there. Activities will include stream study, kayaking, scavenger hunt, games, and more! Open to families with homeschool students grades K-12.
Pre-registration required by Sunday, August 29. Limit 20 people. Please include adults and younger siblings when registering.
Parents, please plan ahead for a successful day.
- Meet at the Wildlife Center. Please be prepared to transport participants to and from the 40 Maples Day Use Area for stream activities.
- Event will be held rain or shine.
- Activities will be held both indoors and out. Students should be prepared for the weather. In case of thunder or lightning, kayaking and stream study will be cancelled, and an alternate indoor activity will be offered.
- All participants should arrive dressed in water clothes. Please bring along a towel and a change of clothing.
- Families should bring a packed lunch. Lunch break will be 30 minutes.
- Parents are required to stay on-site for the day and are encouraged to participate with their children.
- Children age 8 and over will be allowed to use a single kayak. Children 2-7 may ride in a tandem kayak with a parent/adult. All kayaking participants will be required to wear a life vest.
- Program activities are designed for grade levels K-12. Younger children are welcome to attend with a supervising adult.
- Due to our remote setting Sinnemahoning State Park does not have cell service or Wi-Fi available.
