Herons, Hawks, and Squawks: Amazing Birds of PA
Join us for a fun morning of learning all about PA Herons and Hawks! Did you know PA is home seven long legged heron species? Some of them were hunted to near extinction. Hawks are some of the most fascinating birds of prey found in the state. Some of our hawks are as small as a Robin while others nearly have a 6 foot wing span. This program will be highly interactive with games, learning how to ID, and listen for bird calls. If the weather cooperates, we will head outside to look for the herons and hawks around Yellow Creek State Park! Meet at the Environmental Learning Center, 25 Pond Lane, Penn Run, PA. Don't worry about the weather, we can be indoors for most of the program if raining.
This program is geared for school age students, teens, & Adults. However, this program is great practice for High School Envirothon Students.
