Hemlock Conservation: Protecting Hemlocks PROGRAM IS FULL!
170 Route 259 Highway, Penn Run, PA 15765-5941
##KillWooleyAdelgidEastern hemlock (Tsuga canadensis), the state tree of Pennsylvania, plays several important ecological roles in our landscape, for example, cooling headwater streams for trout and other aquatic life and providing critical habitat, structure, and thermal cover for many wildlife species. The health and survival of eastern hemlocks have in recent years been threatened by insects, most notably the non-native hemlock woolly adelgid (Adelges tsugae). Join us for Hemlock Conservation: Protecting Hemlocks from Hemlock Woolly Adelgid to learn about these insect issues and what actions you can take to protect your hemlocks. Specific insecticide applications that you can apply to control adelgids on your hemlock trees will be discussed and demonstrated in the field.
