Join a handful of other cooks to prepare an authentic 18th-century meal at Washington Crossing Historic Park on Sunday, October 13, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Please arrive at 9:45 AM. You’ll learn the basic techniques of open hearth cooking in the Hibbs House, where we’ll prepare a seasonal 18th-century meal on the hearth and enjoy the meal together at the end of the class. Please note that the food may include ingredients such as wheat, eggs, and meat, and the class will involve some lifting of kettles and water buckets. WHAT TO BRING You may want to bring an apron, your own knife, and a drinking vessel. Please dress appropriately, and do not wear open-toed shoes or shorts.
