Ready to be scared? The Haunted Bog Walks will take place at Black Moshannon State Park on Friday, October 12. Two different walks will be available. Both are ADA accessible and one will be sensory-friendly. Please see the descriptions for more details. Pre-registration is required for this event. To register, please call the park office at 814-342-5960 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Limit of 50 people per walk and please only sign up for one of the walks. This is due to limited space for parking and on the board walk. There is no charge for these programs, but donations are welcome. 7:00 pm-Kid's Haunted Bog Walk This haunted walk will be sensory-friendly and ADA accessible. There will be no strobe lights, participants can carry a regular flashlight that they bring, and there will not be loud music or screaming from creatures. The creatures, instead, will be handing out some candy to the kids. It takes place on the bog trail, which is an elevated boardwalk. The participants will be split into two groups with a guide to point out some of the unique features of the bog along the way. The trail is about 1/2 mile long. Parking is located at Boat Launch #3. Requires pre-registration. 8:00 pm-Haunted Bog Walk This haunted walk is ADA accessible. The participants will be able to use their own flashlights. The creatures will be jumping out, making noises, and following you. The participants will be split into two groups with a guide to point out the unique features of the bog. The trail is about 1/2 mile long on an elevated boardwalk that is wheelchair accessible. Parking is located at Boat Launch #3 on West Side Road. Requires pre-registration. The Haunted Lake Loop Trail is on October 20. Please see the event for more details. It has more scares, but is not ADA accessible. Please try to attend the Lake Loop if you do not need an easy walk, ADA accessibility, or sensory-friendly.
