Gyotaku: Fish Printing
17215 Buffalo Road, Mifflinburg, PA 17844-9656
Gyotaku is a Japanese tradition combining nature and art with unique prints. "Gyo" meaning fish and "taku" meaning rubbing. After catching a prized fish, people often memoralized their catch by creating a fish print using paper and ink. Stop by the Environmmental Learning Center anytime between 1:30 and 4 PM to create a print of your favorite fish! Rubber fish models will be provided for this activity, so it is not necessary to bring a real fish.
