Glacier Ridge Trail makes its way across Moraine’s North Shore, usually coinciding with the North Country Trail. But here the two trails have their own identities as we hike among evergreens leaning over the lake, by old foundations built by the farm families who owned this land, and traverse the spine of a hill left by a powerful glacier. Join park staff at the east end of the 528 boat launch (either walk or drive under the bridge) for approx.. 2.5 miles on moderate terrain. Exit off route 422 and turn north on route 528, cross the lake and turn right into the “528 Launch”. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy footwear, and bring your own water and snack for the trail. After the hike, picnic tables are available along the shore.
