Getting Started with Backyard Maple Sugaring

Here’s an opportunity for adults who want to get started making their own tasty maple syrup! From choosing appropriate trees to tapping, collecting and evaporating maple sap.  Participants will learn, observe and practice the steps in the sugaring process and discover how it can be done on a backyard scale.  This program will take place outdoors, with indoor restrooms available.

The program is free.  Some equipment will be available to purchase at the Jennings Nature Shop.  This program is designed for participants 16 and older.  Registration is required by February 7th. Register online (to the right) or by calling 724-794-6011.

  • We ask participants to stay home if they have been diagnosed with COVID-19, are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed or is experiencing symptoms.
