8:00 am to 9:00 am- Morning Bird Count

Beginning and novice birders are welcome to join us at Boat Launch #3 on West Side Rd to look for birds on Black Moshannon Lake!  Basic identification and citizen science tools will be covered.  No registration required.

10:00 am to 12:00 am- Black Mo Hike

Explore the trails with us!  Meet at Boat Launch #3 for a loop hike, approximately 2.25 miles.  Make sure to wear proper footwear (no flip-flops, please!), and bring a water source.  No registration required.

2:00 pm to 3:30 pm-Kayaking Basics

Learn how to kayak, then practice on the lake.   Several types of kayaks, as well as paddle boards, will be available to borrow.   PFD's must be worn and will be provided.  Age limit-7 years and older.   Don't forget to bring extra clothes (just in case).   Meet at Boat Launch #1.  No registration required.

5:00 pm to 6:00 pm-Solar Viewing

Take a look at the sun through the solar telescope!  Discover interesting facts about this large star.   Meet at the beach area anytime between 5 pm and 6 pm.   This program will be cancelled if complete cloud cover or rain.   No registration required.

7:45 pm to 9:00 pm-Sunset Photo Tour

Bring your camera (DSLR, point and shoot, phone) to this fun photo shoot.   Learn tips and tricks to get beautiful sunset photos while photographing the beautiful sunset over Black Moshannon Lake.  This program requires registration.   Click on the green registration button to sign up.  If complete cloud cover or inclement weather, this program will be cancelled.   Details will be sent in the confirmation email.   If you do not receive one, please email blackmoshannonee@pa.gov.
