Come and enjoy a day of activities on the beach. All activities are free at the beach at Greenwood Furnace State Park.

10:00 am to 3:30 pm – Kayak Demos - Meet in the grassy area near playground

Would you like to learn to kayak?  Or maybe just pick up some new tips?  We will be leading an “Introduction to kayaking,” program with a limited number of kayaks provided.

11 am – Lakeview Trail Jaunt - Meet in the front of the Beach Building

Come and join us for an easy-peasy hike around the lake on Lakeview Trail. This is a great trail for younger kids, and has some nice views over the lake. Led by the Standing Stone Trail Club.

1 pm – Sand Castle Competition Begins - 2 pm - Judging - Meet at main stone steps to beach

Bring your bucket, a shovel, and some creativity to the beach and show us what you can build while having some fun playing in the sand.  A three-judge panel will award prizes to the winner(s).

2:30 pm– Swim Across the Lake - Meet on the Beach

Have you ever wanted to swim across Greenwood Lake?  Here’s your chance. We’ll meet up at the beach and see who goes across the chilly water and back the fastest.  Prize for winner! Lifeguards will be monitoring swimmers.
