Come and enjoy a day of activities on the beach. All activities are free at the beach at Greenwood Furnace State Park.

Kayak Demos- (10:00 am to 3:30 pm) – Come and learn some kayak basics and then try one out. Kayaks available to use.

Lakeview Trail Jaunt (11:00 am) Come and join us for an easy-peasy hike around the lake on Lakeview Trail. This is a great trail for younger kids, and has some nice views over the lake. Led by the Standing Stone Trail Club.

Sand Castle Competition - (Begins at 1:00 pm, judging at 2 pm) - Bring your bucket, a shovel, and some creativity to the beach and show us what you can build while having some fun playing in the sand.  A three-judge panel will award prizes to the winner(s).

Swim Across The Lake! (2:30 pm) - Have you ever wanted to swim across Greenwood Lake?  Here’s your chance. We’ll meet up at the beach and see who goes across the chilly water and back the fastest.  Prize for winner! For the kids, race to the buoy line and back. Lifeguards will be monitoring swimmers.

Fun on the Beach day is sponsored by the Friends of Greenwood Furnace, Whipple Dam, and Penn-Roosevelt State Parks, a non-profit group of volunteers dedicated to supporting the parks and helping to fund projects and programming.  Stop by and find out the ways in which you could lend a hand. The food concession at the beach will be open normal hours: 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.
