Visit the courtyard of the historic gristmill on Sunday, June 23, anytime between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM to see cast iron cooking in action. FREE. Learn from a gristmill baker how breads can be baked with charcoal outdoors, and they can make your next outdoor meal special, too. Grains ground in a gristmill were baked over campfires, iron for the cookware was smelted in Slippery Rock Gorge, and the charcoal to burn for fuel was also made in this valley. Sample historic gristmill recipes and pioneer food specialties!  You may drive past mill to drop off passengers. Park at Kildoo Picnic Area, and hike down to the old mill.
