Fourth of July at Fort Pitt
601 Commonwealth Pl Blg A, Pittsburgh, PA 15222-1212
Commemorate the Fourth of July by raising a 36-foot garrison flag in historic Point State Park with help from colonial re-enactors and scouts. Visitors to the Point can learn about Fort Pitt and Western Pennsylvania’s role in the American Revolution and experience 18th century military music.
Inside the museum, visitors can enjoy a scavenger hunt and crafts. Outside, learn how to march and drill from costumed interpreters.
Members of the Yinzer Singers, Pittsburgh’s premiere cross-genre chamber choir, will sing the National Anthem.
The Fort Pitt Museum would like to thank the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Pittsburgh Chapter for the use of the Fort Pitt Block House grounds and for its care, promotion, and historic interpretation of Block House history for 124 years of its 254 year history.
