Fossils: Portraits of the Past

Beltzville State Park has 8 types of Devonian period fossils (brachiopods, clams, bryozoans, crinoids, coral (solitary & colonial), cephalopods, snails & trilobites). Join the park naturalist to learn all about fossils & “dig” for fossils in the restricted Army Corps of Engineers spillway area. Bring a bag to take home your handful of fossils & wear sturdy shoes. You are welcome to bring magnifying lenses, small brushes, small garden shovels, hammers & chisels to better search out fossils. Program is rain/shine. Please bring along water, sunscreen, and bug spray.

We will be meeting at the Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) for this program.

Registration is REQUIRED, as group size is limited. Please register each individual attending, separately.
