Flat Naturalist Self-Guided Walks

Looking for something novel to do? Get outside and take a flat naturalist for a walk. Throughout the month of January 2021, visit Presque Isle and Erie Bluffs State Parks for self-guided nature walks along designated trails. Four naturalist-designed, self-guided walks complete with directions, suggested resting stops and nature information will have you discovering the wonderful winter season! Register by emailing smarendt@pa.gov to be emailed details about each trail, including your very own #FlatNaturalist to lead the way! You can sign up any time during January. Those signed up in December will be sent details December 31st. All walks are 1.50 miles or under. These self-guided trail discoveries are fun for all ages and can be completed at your own leisure during daylight hours.
Please do this activity in small, immediate family groups. Wear masks and maintain social distancing when encountering other groups. Follow CDC and Pennsylvania guidelines for masking, sanitizing, etc. Out-of-state travel restrictions apply (link below). The Secretary of Health has issued an order requiring anyone who visits from another state to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 prior to entering the commonwealth. If someone cannot get a test or chooses not to, they must quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Pennsylvania. All participants must meet the conditions of the order to participate in park programs. Programs are subject to change and further restrictions.
