First Day Hike

This First Day Hike aims to promote a mindful start to the year by encouraging individuals to embark on their first outdoor adventure with a deliberate intention to be fully present in the moment, immersing themselves in the sights, sounds, and sensations that the natural environment offers. By consciously tuning in to details often overlooked, such as the rustling of leaves underfoot or the gentle breeze caressing one's face, hikers can enrich their connection with nature and experience numerous mental and physical benefits. This approach fosters stress reduction, improved cognitive function, heightened sense of gratitude, and enhanced overall well-being. Come start your year on an introspective note and gain renewed inspiration from reconnecting with nature's wonders.

Due to the mindful, quiet nature of this hike, this event is adults only and pets are not welcome. If you wish to hike with your children or pets, we encourage you to park at one of the other parking areas in the forest and explore the forest on your own.

First Day Hikes are popular events and this hike is limited in space, so please cancel your registration if you are no longer able to join us. Due to the increasing popularity of our programming and the growing number of people on the waitlist for programs, we require a 24-hour cancellation notice for all programs. This will allow us time to reach out to other participants/families on the wait list and allow them to fill your spot. Individuals who repeatedly do not cancel before the program and who repeatedly do not show up to the program will be prohibited from signing up for future programs.
