Come celebrate with us with a special paddle.  Join us for a short paddle ending with a session of viewing the park’s fireworks from the lake.  The fireworks are scheduled to start at 10:00 p.m.  This program is intended for those who do not have a kayak or canoe and need to borrow a park kayak.  The lake will be open for other boaters that evening.  Bring a flashlight or headlamp.  All other equipment will be provided.  All participants will be required to stay with the group and will be required to follow all program guidelines including wearing a PFD at all times. There is not charge for this program, but pre-registration is required for all participants. Space is limited, so register now.  To reserve your kayak program slot call (814)733-4218 or e-mail shawneesp@pa.gov. This program is not recommended for children under the age of 8.  Youth are required to use a tandem kayak with a responsible adult.  Tandem kayaks will be reserved for families with children between 8 and 12 and can only fit two people.  Those under 18 must have an adult present to sign a waiver.  Pre-registration is required for all participants and space is limited, so register now by calling (814)733-4218 or by e-mail at shawneesp@pa.gov.  Please leave your phone number, e-mail, number of participants and whether they are adult or youth.  Meet at the Region 3 Headquarters.   Check-in for the program begins at 8:00 PM and refresher lessons at 8:30 PM.  Please let us know if you must cancel your reservation.
