Fireflies: Nature's Night Lights

Fireflies, or lightning bugs, can be found around the world with nearly 2,000 species total.  There are 150 species in North America alone. What are fireflies?  Why and how do they light up? Where can I find them?  Is is possible to identify them?

Join Jennings staff to answer these questions and many more.  After a short indoor presentation we'll venture out into the forest and fields to observe fireflies and try our hand at identifying them.

This is a free event and pre-registration is not required.
