Women in the Wild-Femme Fatale Fishing Program

Have you been thinking about taking up a new hobby? Fishing is an excellent way to connect with the outdoors and have fun!

In this program, participants will get a short lesson on the basics of fishing, followed by free time to practice their fishing skills at the ADA Fishing Pier at French Creek State Park. No prior fishing experience necessary!

All equipment will be provided, but please come with your own bait (there is a bait vending machine on site should you need it, so bring 5 or 6 dollars in cash if you plan to use it). If you have your own gear and would like to bring it along, please feel welcome to do so. Ages 15 and up.

Women in the Wild is a new monthly series of outdoor programs held at state parks throughout the Southeast. Each month of 2024 there will be an opportunity to get outdoors, learn a new skill, and have fun in a relaxed, friendly, and affirming environment. Are you drawn to the outdoors and interested in exploring new hobbies and wilderness skills, but you’re not enthusiastic about entering a hyper-masculine space to do so? This series is designed especially for you! Choose from activities like archery, paddleboarding, rock climbing, and birdwatching. Check out the event at your closest state park or follow Women in the Wild to a new park each month. We’re excited to spend the year with you trying new things!

Not sure if this series is right for you? Contact SPresogna@pa.gov with any questions!
