Fairy Rings, Fae, and Other Fungi Folklore
1150 Keystone Park Road, Derry, PA 15627-3679
Have you ever made a crown out of flowers? Chosen that one special stick on the ground to be your magic wand? Do you see a mushroom and imagine fairies and other mythical folk huddling underneath it in a rainstorm? This is the program for you.
For as long as humans have walked the earth, mushrooms have been a source of fascination. Join the park naturalist and learn how their biology have intertwined them in human history and folklore, all while going on a mushroom hike.
Plan to meet at the beach parking lot, near the beach house. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes. We will be walking mildly hilly terrain that can sometimes get a little bit muddy. Bringing water and wearing bug spray is also advised.
