Celebrate riparian habitat with your DCNR Park Naturalist by taking a closeup and personal look at life below the surface of our streams. We will learn about the importance of water quality needed to support our native flora and fauna and how macroinvertebrates are used as indicators of biological health. Like canaries in the coal mine, sensitive macroinvertebrate species are found only in the cleanest, purest watersheds. Hard core fly-fishing anglers know this secret and often tie flies to mimic these sensitive insect species, which are favorite foods for trout here at Ridley Creek State Park. Registration not required.
