Eco Art Afterschool Camp – Performing Arts!
3025 New Holland Road, Reading, PA 19607
Create, Recycle, and Innovate in this 3 week long after school ecological art camp for students in 4th grade through 8th grade.
Join staff from Nolde Forest Environmental Education Center and the Yocum Institute for Arts Education to learn about current ecological issues affecting our local communities and the history of puppet theater as an art form. Then, using that knowledge students will form small groups to write a script with an environmental message, build puppets from repurposed and recycled materials, and then perform their own original puppet show on the last night.
Camp will meet 3 fridays in a row: Sept 17, Sept 24, and Oct 1. Because each week builds on the previous, students must attend all 3 weeks. When you sign up for the Sept 17 date, that will also sign you up for the additional weeks.
- Performances will be open to all friends and family will take place on Friday, Oct 1, 2021 from 5pm-6pm.
In order to keep the performances a surprise until showtime, this after school camp will be drop-off camp (parents do not need to stay with their student during class time), however we do not offer any after hours care – all students must be picked up at 6pm each week.
Spaces are limited, so please register your student for all three dates by clicking the green button and signing up. Please enter your STUDENT’S name and age information but include YOUR contact information as the email and phone number so we can reach you if necessary. Please include your name and relationship to the student in the additional comments field.
