Earth Day is Off the Hook
18 Boundary Road, Grantville, PA 17028-9682
Come celebrate Earth Day at Memorial Lake State Park with fishing and a stream study, co-hosted by Visit Lebanon Valley! Nothing makes you appreciate nature more than learning to rig a fishing line, baiting a hook, and cast a rod. We will provide tackle, bait, and fishing rods, but please register by clicking the green box to the right so we can get an accurate count of how many rods we need. You do not need to register if you are bringing your own equipment. PA Fishing Licenses are NOT required for this event because this is an educational program approved by the Fish and Boat Commission.
Additionally, we'll explore the quality of our stream by conducting a study on the creatures that call it home. The park will provide strainers, containers, and magnifying glasses to view the creatures we find. We'll then talk about how our discoveries relate to the stream water, the lake, and the fish that we're catching.
Please bring a lunch, sunscreen, and shoes to wear in the stream! Meet and fish at Middle Road Pavilion, short hike over to Indiantown Run for the steam study.
All programs are subject to change due to weather or staffing shortages. Please check the DCNR Calendar of events or Facebook page for cancellations or changes to programs.
