DESCRIPTION:WITNESS AMERICAN HISTORY COME TO LIFE!\n\nEach December\, thous
 ands of people gather on the banks of the Delaware River to watch the reena
 ctment of George Washington’s daring 1776 Christmas night river crossing. D
 uring the event\, several hundred reenactors in Continental military dress 
 listen to an inspiring speech by General Washington and then row across the
  river in replica Durham boats.\n\nThe first opportunity to witness the ree
 nactment is Sunday\, December 11\, from 11 AM to 3 PM in the Washington Cro
 ssing Historic Park’s Historic Village.\n\nThe actual crossing begins at ap
 proximately 1 PM. In addition to the crossing reenactment\, special colonia
 l-era activities and demonstrations in the Historic Village will offer a fu
 ll day of family fun and learning.  Justin Cherry of Half Crown Bakehouse w
 ill be returning to this year’s event with freshly baked bread for purchase
 .\n\nAuthor and professor at Penn State University Abington Friederike Baer
 \, Ph.D. will discuss and sign her new book\, Hessians: German Soldiers in

 enactors must supply their own period-correct clothing.Washington Crossing 
 Historic Park is located at the intersection of Routes 532 and 32 (River Ro
 ad) in Washington Crossing\, Pennsylvania. Directions can be found here.Par

 ossing\, ceremonies\, speeches and commemorative activities still occur. Ri
 ver crossings are contingent upon safe conditions for participants.For more

 ments of the Battle of Trenton and other celebrations during its annual Pat
