Odonata is the order of the dragonflies and damselflies. Over 150 species of these fascinating insects are found in Pennsylvania, and their colors and sizes vary widely. In this program we’ll explore the differences between these dragons and damsels, discuss their lifecycle, and attempt to capture some to get a closer look.  

This program will be a first come, first serve. Equipment for capturing insects is limited. All ages are welcome, but this is recommended for older children and adults.  

All programs are subject to change due to weather or staffing shortages. Please check the DCNR Calendar of events or Facebook page for cancellations or changes to programs. Severe weather, such as snow, ice, storms, or heavy rains will cancel most programs. If you’d like, you can leave your number with us and we can notify you of changes.
