Curious about birds and their unique beaks? Join us to explore the fascinating adaptations of shorebirds! In this hands-on activity we will compare various beaks to tools see how different beak shapes and sizes can be used to help find and catch food in different environments.
This activity will have participants using utensils such as scissors, spoons, and clothespins to mimic bird beaks gathering food such as beans, toothpicks, and washers in different environments including sand, water, and more. Geared for children, ages 6 - 9. Adults must accompany child. Meet at Environmental Learning Center, 25, Pond Lane, Penn Run, PA 15765.
