Hike along with the park educator on a moderate, four-mile hike along Lake Nockamixon. Enjoy the scenic lake-view trail, as we meander through the woods, along creeks, and among the pines. This trail is slick when wet and will lead us through two easy, trickling stream crossings. If trail or stream conditions are too adverse, a shorter alternate route along the gravel access road will be used. We will be hiking during both days of the annual Fall White Water Release at Nockamixon. Please register for only one date. Part of the hike will include a walk onto the top of the dam for an exclusive peek at the outflow.
This hike traverses uneven terrain. Some hiking experience is recommended. Children must be at least 10 years old to participate, and no children under the age of 18 may attend without parent. Water, snack, and sturdy hiking boots required.
*NOTE: The dam area is closed to the public. Program participants will be accompanied by a Ranger providing special permission to view the release for this program.
The meeting location is at the parking lot on Tower Road.
