Creek Critters and Chemistry at Punches Run

Do you know how to tell the health of a steam? While you can’t tell water quality just by looking at it, you can learn a lot from cataloguing the creatures that call a stream home. Simple, stream side, chemical tests help to complete the picture. Join the Master Watershed Stewards from Penn State and Nolde Staff and learn how to monitor the water quality of Punches Run while we celebrate Water Week!

Program will start at McConnell Hall. After a short (.5 mile) hike to the stream sampling site participants will help to collect stream organisms and learn how to do the chemical tests and interpret the results. Please register so we know to expect you. While young children are welcome, this presentation is geared towards a highschool and adult learning level.
