Lackawanna County is participating in the 2022 City Nature Challenge, a friendly global competition through iNaturalist to document as many species as possible over a 4-day period.

This year, the event is April 29th - May 2nd and we need your help!

If you use iNaturalist, get out and document every animal, plant, and fungus you find in the county to help add observations to the tally!

To help contribute, we are hosting a concentrated effort (bio-blitz) at Archbald Pothole State Park and adjacent Ed Staback Memorial Park on Saturday, April 30th. A guided bird walk will be held at 8am (meet in the first parking lot of Ed Staback Memorial Park).

We invite naturalists of all ages and abilities to visit either park to submit observations to iNaturalist and help our county be well represented in this “collaboration-meets-friendly-competition” event!
