Would you like the opportunity to bring nature closer to your home while helping to improve habitat for wildlife at WCHP? This is your chance! WCHP is currently home to 25 cavity nest boxes. You probably notice these during your walks in the park. Many of our boxes need to be replaced after this nesting season, and you can help by registering for your own cavity nest kit!

By donating $10 to the Friends of Washington Crossing Park, you will be contributing directly to the improvement and addition to the cavity nest rearing program at WCHP. You will also be provided your own personal cavity nest kit to construct and erect on your own property or at your house!

By registering for this program you will also be provided a Zoom link to participate in a live virtual program with the park naturalist! The virtual program will provide information on; How and where to

hang your nest box, Species and identification, General maintenance, and DCNR’s Cavity Nest Monitoring Program.

You must register by February 10th by emailing mtruesdale@pa.gov. After registering you will be contacted to schedule a time to safely pick up your cavity nest kit at the Visitor Center to take home. You will also be emailed a Zoom link for the live presentation that will take place on Friday, February 19 at 6pm.

Please Note:
-Nest box kits cannot be mailed.  You must pick them up.
-Your $10 donation can be paid in cash or a check to the: Friends of Washington Crossing Park
-Friday evening's zoom program will not provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to build your nest.  You will be provided building instructions to build prior to the virtual presentation.
