Join the park naturalist as we talk about the stories different cultures around the world have created to add a little extra excitement to those bright lights in the night sky! We’ll discuss tales around some of our favorite constellations like Cygnus the Swan, Canis Major, and Canis Minor. And even discuss how some of these constellation stories change from culture to culture. How does the Greek telling of Ursa Major and Ursa Minor differ from the Anishinaabe tale even though it’s the same stars?

A fire will be going, s’mores kits available, and lots of seating! (Although if you want to sit closer to the fire feel free to bring your own chairs as bench seating provided is not very close to the fire.)
